Christmas Banquet at the Lake December 18

Because of cold weather, the Christmas banquet was rescheduled for Sunday, December 18.

For the past few years, Wayne and Schell have hosted our Christmas banquet. This year, we return to the lake. In the past, we have had pretty good luck with the weather. If it happens to be a bit cool, we can always build a fire or set up tables in the windbreak. In the event of terrible weather, we can postpone no more, and would have to cancel completely.

25th Anniversary a Big Success

Forty-two people attended the club's 25th anniversary. With a temporary tarp, we doubled the size of our pavilion, and set up lots more tables. We needed two tables just to hold all the food. Certificates of appreciation went to long-time members, and those who have served on our board since our 20th anniversary, or helped the club in other significant ways.

Following large attendance at the September Full-Moon Skinny-Dip, the anniversary banquet boosted us to the second-highest September attendance ever. The October swim drew an equally good crowd.

Before the anniversary, we got full-page coverage in The Bulletin. A reporter from TCC stripped down to attend the event and interviewed some of our younger members. A follow-up report, complete with pictures, should appear in the spring issue of Nude & Natural--though they are running behind on their publication schedule.

Deb took the pictures. Her fancy new camera even let her produce the panoramic view of the lake above.

Consider Attending the Midwinter Naturist Gathering

This year's Midwinter Naturist Gathering runs from February 16 to 21. The Gathering at Sunsport Gardens near Loxahatchee is always jammed with activities ranging from political strategy, to nude photography, to kids' activities, to massage, to musical entertainment. Paul will be leading workshops on informing politicians of naturist family values, a discussion of the movie The Genesis Children, and a meeting of the Professors & Researchers Special Interest Group. He will also do a slide show on German nude art, naturism, and Nazis.

If you have never attended, think seriously about going. It's a great chance to meet other nudist leaders from around the state and the nation. See Paul for information.

The 2012 Calendar is Ready

Tallahassee Naturally 2012 calendar This coming year, the full moons fall right in the crack between the months. So some months we will have two swims, and other months none. Also, we have been contacted by Vita Nuda, the youth arm of AANR, about sponsoring a nude 5-kilometer run at the lake the day before our College Greek Athletic Meet. Though it's not yet certain, we have tentatively put the date on our calendar.

Announcements

Does anyone have a digital movie camera? Kim, who filmed our College Greek Athletic Meet for several years, will not be able to do it this coming year. Paul has started editing Kim's films, and knows which missing scenes we still need.

The fall issue of Nude & Natural has finally arrived. It contains Rick's six-page sinkhole article, with pictures from the club's last two sinkhole tours. Paul is pictured and quoted several times in a story about nudist research. Also, the November 21 issue of FSView has a long article about Naturally FSU, with some fine quotes by Ron.

On sunny winter days, we can be comfortable in the windbreak with temperatures down to about 60.

Chairs and benches are for your use--wherever you want. But please put them back where they belong when you are finished with them.

Nudist guidebooks make fine Christmas presents. Though they have gone out of print (probably forever), we still have the AANR Park Guide and the TNS World Guide. Contact Paul for our low prices.

The owner of Paradise Lakes near Tampa has died in a car crash. This was the man who pulled the club out of AANR and brought increased sexiness. Nothing has yet been determined about new ownership or a new direction.

The Bare Buns Bikers, a nudist motorcycle club, are buying a clothed resort near White Springs (toward Jacksonville) and hope to convert it to a nude use. Once again, we will have six Florida nudist clubs within thirty miles of the Georgia border.
